A day of fishing on the Klamath or its tributaries is truly unforgettable. Your guide knows the hot spots and takes you there in a safe, comfortable McKenzie drift boat — productive riffles punctuated with stretches of white water that add just a little more excitement.
We’ve been a family-owned outfit for over twenty years under Wally the White Water Walrus Watson. We also offer mild-to-wild raft and inflatable kayak trips when you want to swap the rod for an oar
When that steelhead strikes, your rod springs to life as the flashing form breaks the water in a series of dazzling leaps. They are the hardest fighting fish of them all — and they’re waiting for you in the waters of the Klamath River country.
Fishing the Klamath Country
Drift-boat trips with guides who know every riffle.
Klamath River Outfitters provides an eight-hour fishing day down one of several prime stretches of river, each between seven and ten miles in length. All tackle is provided, or you may bring your favorite rod.
You’ll be in a safe McKenzie River drift boat with plenty of room for two husky fishermen and your guide. The boat reaches bends along the cliffs and middle-water stretches completely inaccessible to bank fishermen.
At certain times of the year, the steelhead are joined by the annual Chinook salmon run on the lower Klamath, Smith, Salmon, and Chetco rivers.

Wildlife & Scenery
The river’s beauty almost defies description.
Mountains rise through the morning mist right from the water’s edge. Deer come down to drink, otters splash in the shallows, and a soaring eagle or graceful osprey may swoop down and fish alongside you — sometimes pulling a steelhead from the same riffles you’re working.
